Britain continually attacked American ships, and American seamen. In particular, they would stop US ships and forcibly remove any crew members that they thought had been in the British navy. They were putting restrictions on American trade routes, etc.

Another cause was the fact that the British still kept troops in the Northwest US and contributed to Indian uprising by supplying arms and otherwise offering help.
