Who invented the stethascope?

The modern binaural Stethoscope was invented by the American physician George Philip Cammann in the 1850s. An earlier instrument was invented between 1816 and 1819 by the French physician René Laënnec.
The stethoscope was invented in France in 1816 by René Laennec at the Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital in Paris.
