What are the advantages and disadvantages of using stone instead of ceramic tile in a walk-in shower?

I only know that natural stone is porous and therefore needs sealing before you use it. Ceramics, however, are glazed, and therefore do not need any pre-treatment. I suppose it depends on what you want in terms of appearance and cost.
