In bull riding how does the bull know where to go at the end?

Because the gate leading to the holding pen will be the only one open, sometimes with young bulls one of the rodeo clowns will stand in front of the opened gate so they can see the opening and therefore, go through. Once a bull has done the job a few times will know to go through the gate as that is where they get fed.
