What type of shelter did Mojave Indians have?

The Mojave people lived along the banks of the Colorado River. These farmers had two types of housing:

• Near the river they lived in thatched huts on stilts to protect them from floods.
• Away from the flood zone they had wood frame houses that were packed with clay. These were Excellent desert shelters as they kept out the summer heat, winter cold and desert storms.
