Is it important to be in fashion?

If you feel you want to dress what the media considers fashionable, go for it. Personally I like to mix my own style from a variety of other influences, modern and historical with some fashion trends.
It's definitely not just about what's fashionable. Consider what colours suit you, what shapes suit you, the fit, the quality and obviously what you actually like and not just what's "in."
