What is a non linear absorption?

I think Non linear absorption means when EM wave is absorbed by some absorber and polarisation of that absorber is higher order dependent on susceptibility and electric field.

P = x(1)E + x(2) E2 + x(3) E3.....

x is susceptibility and E is electric field of EM wave.
