What is the biological life cycle of bats?

There are many different types of bats, and therefore many different life cycles. A common bat found in northern temperate zones has an annual cycle of sexual activity in which male bats fertilize eggs released by female bats. Tropical bats may have many sexual activity cycles compared to the annual cycle of northern bats.
