Do bed bugs live in stereo equipment?

Yes bedbugs might possibly live and breed in stereo equipment, if that is somewhere near to a bed in which some person (or persons) sleeps. But stereo equipment or a radio or computer equipment or a television set are merely one of a large number of possibilities which bedbugs may adopt as their day time "hiding place".

It is equally possible their hiding place might be under clutter, (such as clothing strewn around an untidy bedroom), in the furniture near the bed such as a cupboard or chest of drawers, under the carpet, in a holdall or other luggage, in or under the floorboard, in cracks or crevices in the bed structure, in bedroom's walls, or very commonly inside the mattress or in the mattress folds of the bed.

Essentially bedbugs spend day-times in any one of these or other possible hiding place where it is dark during day. So your stereo equipment just might or might not be such a location depending on its design and its ease of access for the bedbug to crawl inside after completion of its meal. Female bedbugs also lay their eggs and stick them on hard surfaces, which might possibly also be found in stereo equipment or in any one of the numerous other possible bedbug hiding places near your bed.

They only emerge from their hiding place during hours of darkness to find food, their meal then being the blood of a human asleep in the bed. After its meal each bedbug then returns to either the same hiding place it came out of, or somewhere else where it is dark daylight hours in the bedroom. The female bedbugs may lay 5 or more eggs each there, which in time hatch and so may create a larger and larger bedbug infestation each day in that home, if nothing is done to locate and exterminate the infestation by those living in that home.
