In telophase II of meiOSis, the separated sister chromatids reach opposite poles of the cell, and the nuclear envelope begins to reform around each set of chromosomes. The chromosomes, which are still in their condensed form, start to decondense back into chromatin. This phase is followed by cytokinesis, resulting in four genetically distinct haploid daughter cells.
