Are Shudras same as Untouchables

No. Untouchables were actually below the Shudras in the ancient Caste System and were ostracized from society. This horrendous practice is clearly outlawed in India today. In fact a Dalit (Untouchable), Dr. Ambedkar framed India's Constituition at the time of Indian independance.
