art is the catalyst and also the method of recording for much of history.

without art, we would not be able to understand and experience the social ramifications of political decisions made in past time periods. art serves as a window to the way people felt during different times. art also affected the course of action in their countries of origin. art has inspired people to act. take "liberty leading the people", for example. an amazing piece of artwork by french artist eugene delecroix that effected the way french people thought about their country and their duty, and now serves as a freeze- frame for historians.
