What happens when the ball passes over the sideline in basketball?

When the ball passes over the sideline in Basketball, it is considered out of bounds. The game stops, and the team that did not touch the ball last is awarded possession. The player from that team will then inbound the ball from the nearest sideline to where the ball went out, restarting play.
