While no formal education is required to become a personal trainer, your career will be much enhanced by a solid background. Four-year universities offer programs in kinesiology and/or exercise science. Most fall under the College of Education, although you can forgo the education certification programs. The "best" school is the one that has a program and setting that appeals to you and can support you in the achievement of your career goals.
