How many electoral votes did Jefferson and burr have?

In the 1796 presidential election John Adams was elected president with 71 electoral votes. Thomas Jefferson finished second with 68 electoral votes. Jefferson received the second highest number of electoral votes and was elected vice president according to the prevailing rules of electoral college voting.

The election was decided in the House of Representatives, with 10 State delegations voting for Jefferson, 4 voting for Burr and 2 making no choice. Thomas Jefferson became President and his running-mate Aaron Burr became Vice President.
