straw;

good: low cost, easy to compost, warm, good drainage/absorbing

bad: heavy to handle, can smell, horses can eat it

paper;

Good: absorbant, quite cheap,rots ok, warm

Bad: heavy when soiled and blows everywhere

Shreddings;

good: looks neat, comfy, easy to muck out, cheap

bad: soiled looks messy takes longer to rot, low quality can have sharp bits of wood in.

i only put the 3 main and basic beds there!!!!

Dust Extracted Milled Straw

Good: easy to handle, a warm kosibed that's absorbent, composts very quickly and it a fertilizer not a waste product and is natural and cheap.

Bad:hungry horses may eat it.
