Have you ever experienced a lye burn and how did you treat it?

I have not personally experienced a lye burn. However, if someone does experience a lye burn, it is important to immediately rinse the affected area with cool water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if the burn is severe or covers a large area. Do not apply any creams or ointments to the burn.
