Why was the destruction of Jerusalem in AD significant for Christianity?

Jesus had prophesied that the whole Jewish system, would be replaced by his sacrifice. Thus there was no more a need for sacrifices; for observances; etc etc.

Because the nation rejected God's means of SALVATION, God had now purposed to 'abandon the house' of the whole Jewish system, in all its parts -- including the priesthood.

The destruction of Jerusalem took care of the whole system, part & parcel.

The destruction of Jerusalem destroyed all records; including genealogies.

The records needed to prove which tribe people were from; to being able to determine a royal lineage; and a priesthood lineage; -- all this was put out-of-the-way, once and for all. -- His Son had come - - there was no more need for the previous stuff; so get rid of it, as if by 'fire'. Only ashes left; un-usable; un-identifiable.

This was all arranged for by Jehovah God, to being able to promote a completely new form of worship, thru Christ Jesus, God's appointed and anointed King and High Priest. He was now the 'LAMB OF GOD' that takes away the sins of the world. No more animal sacrifices needed; no more out-pouring of blood.

So yes, the destruction of Jerusalem was very significant for Christianity.
