What are the problems with oneness theology?

Oneness theology, also known as modalism, is a belief that denies the traditional Christian doctrine of the Trinity, which teaches that God exists as three distinct persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The main problem with oneness theology is that it undermines the distinctiveness and relationship between the three persons of the Trinity. This can lead to a misunderstanding of the nature of God and the way He interacts with humanity. Additionally, oneness theology can also diminish the importance of Jesus Christ's role as the Son of God and Savior of the world.
