What inspires nausicaa to organize her washing expedition and what reasons did she tell her father?

Nausicaa is inspired by her sense of duty to her family and her desire to help others. She tells her father that she wants to wash the clothes so that she can prepare for her own marriage, as well as to help the men in the house look their best for the journey back to Ithaca.
