What were 2 kinds of bow used in Europe before A.D. 1400?

We can do much better than just two. The 'pyramid' style bow has been suggested as dating back many thousands of years. The English longbow is a general single wood (aka self bow) that has also been around for at least a thousand years as depictions on the Bayeux Tapestry as well as several other sources demonstrate. The Mongolian and Scythian style recurve bows have also been around for very long times, especially bearing in mind that the Scythians themselves were an ancient steppe plains tribe.
