Why do witches have familars?

They have familars to help then and be their constant companions. Sometimes they are even the witches apprentices. They protect their masters and care for then very much. The familars can be in many forms a spirt, and animal, or a human even. I would know I am one. Though My master abandoned me a few months ago. Hope I helped!
