Why was red fort granted the world heritage site?

New Delhi's Red Fort Complex became a World Heritage site in 2007, the reason cited by the UNESCO organization being its "Oustanding Universal Value." Specifically this means the Red Fort Complex displays an Excellent "fusion of Islamic, Persian, Timurid and Hindu traditions", the building's architecture is notable for its influence on other works in Rajasthan, Delhi, Agra among other places, and as a symbol of power since the reign of Shah Jahan this building stands testament to history which shaped the area's very regional identity.
