The personal pronouns take the place of a noun for a specific person or thing.
The personal pronouns are: I, you, we, he, she, it, me, us, him, her, they, them.
The job of each personal pronoun is:
- I and me take the place of a noun (name) for the person speaking (first person, singular);
- we and us take the place of two or more nouns (names) or pronouns for the person speaking (first person, plural);
- you takes the place of a noun (name), two or more nouns, or a plural noun for the person (people) spoken to (second person, singular and plural);
- he or she, and him or her take the place of a noun (name) for a person spoken about (third person, singular)
- it takes the place of a noun for a thing spoken about (third person, singular);
- they and them take the place of a two or more nouns (names) or pronouns for people or things spoken about (third person, plural).
