How was the construction on building the Stonehenge?

It was long and painstaking. The stone had to be shipped a long way by water and across land. Many of the stones weighed over 6 tons. They had to be rolled on logs, almost a mile from the final point of river delivery. The exact placement of them at the final site was an achievement in itself.
