Why do guys play with girls hair?

For centuries a woman's hair was her 'crowning glory' and obviously is to this day or women of all ages wouldn't make such a fuss about their hair and buy all those products to keep their hair shiny and healthy as well as attractive. Most men admit they love long hair on a woman (wouldn't stop them from dating a girl with short hair) and love the feel of it and the hair may smell nice as well from the shampoo or different products the woman uses.
