My home schooled children need new writing desks, should I buy them new ones, even though we have some that were donated to us?

You should only get new writing desks if their existing study environment would benefit from it. If the work area is cluttered and you're in need of drawers or more space then you might want to consider buying new desks, but otherwise the donated desks should be fine.
