How do you brighten the screen on the Kindle Fire HD8.9?

To brighten the screen on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9, swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Quick Settings menu. Look for the brightness slider and adjust it by sliding it to the right to increase brightness. Alternatively, you can go to Settings, then Display, and adjust the brightness from there as well.
