Edgar Mitchell was the Lunar Module Pilot for Apollo 14, which landed on the Moon in February 1971. During his mission, he conducted scientific experiments, including the deployment of the ALSEP (Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package), and collected lunar samples. Mitchell spent about 33 hours on the lunar surface, conducting various tasks and exploring the Fra Mauro highlands before returning to the command module. His mission contributed significantly to our understanding of the Moon's geology and environment.
