How often does a bird of paradise plant produce a flower?

a bird of paradise plant is very rare it only flowers about every five years but even then it might never flower if you have a bird of paradise plant and it flowers you could get a lot of money for just a picture.

The bird of paradise plant absolutely will flower every year if watered and fertilized properly. However a new plant could take 3 to 5 years to start blooming. I live in southern Fla and it blooms all year and is common to see. As far as pictures of them being rare - that is the stupidest comment I have ever heard.
