Why are cheerleaders so rude and mean?

The stereotype that all cheerleaders are mean, comes form school cheerleaders, who are often viewed as the 'popular girls.' Cheerleaders like this give the sport a bad name, and are what cause people to think cheerleaders are stupid, and that cheering isn't a sport. But not all cheerleaders are mean. I cheer All-Star and 98% of the girls at my gym are total sweethearts. All-Star girls are so friendly, and I love talking to other squads at my competitions. We are not only taught how to cheer, but are bred to be good sports.
