Why am i getting new credit card when my old one doesn't expire until next year?

The card company can issue a new one whenever they want. The 'usual' re-issue time is a month or two before the old one expires, but there's nothing to stop them issuing a new one earlier. Contact the company if you're concerned - they will give you the best answer !
