Where did the ancestors of most Cubans originally come from?

Most Cubans are descendants of a mix of three main groups: Indigenous peoples, primarily the Taíno; Spanish colonizers who arrived in the 15th century; and enslaved Africans brought to the island during the transatlantic slave trade. Over the centuries, this blend of cultures shaped Cuba's unique identity. Additionally, more recent waves of Immigration from various countries have further contributed to the diverse heritage of the Cuban population.
