To disable sound from your desktop speakers, right-click the sound icon in the system tray and select "Open Sound settings." Under the "Output" section, choose the device you want to use instead of your speakers, such as headphones or another audio output. If you want to completely mute the speakers, you can also right-click the sound icon and select "Mute" or use the volume slider to lower it to zero. Alternatively, you can disconnect the speakers or disable them in the Sound Control Panel.
