This is not an invention, but an evolution. The term "high speed" is relative, as this has changed over time and with advancing technology. In the 1700's, Cugnot learned that the high speed of 3 miles per hour was uncontrollable - by 1925, 130 mph was a high speed train. The highest speed conventional train in the world will soon be tested in China, as of late 2012.
