Do girl dogs get periods

Dogs do not get periods like humans do. Female dogs often bleed when in season. The female dog season lasts anywhere from 1-3 weeks. The symptoms include your dog bleeding, although some dogs are very clean so you may not notice. She might also seem to want to escape the house. You could also get some male dog visitors that bark and want to come in your house. Believe me, when your dog is in heat, you can tell. Ours has been in heat for the past few weeks and she's very temperamental and doesn't like to be scratched on her lower back area. We've gotten a few dogs hanging around the house as well.
