How do you remove excess glitter from clothes?

I just came back from a Kids Christmas party and one of the crafts used had glitter glue. Needless to say my brand new, not even a day old, jacket got it on more than a few spots..

I tried lint roller.. no go. Finger nail scratch.. worked but also started to ruin the fabric.. then I tried.. (because I used it before as replacement to carburetor cleaner to remove gummed up gasoline).. vinegar (Apple cider). and it worked like a charm. I used a q-tip to apply, then a paper towel to loosen, then the lint roller to touch it up. Then off course washing it.

Can't say what it'll do to certain fabric but it worked for me. Good luck.
