speech for farewell day of 10th std
A Farewell speech read out by Aiman Ilyas (an intelligent student of a student of mine) at the eve of leaving Jinnah Public School, Gujrat after taking the SSC Examination.
In the name of Almighty Allah, the Most Merciful, Most Gracious.
Honorable Principal, respectable teachers and my dear school-fellows! Assa lamo Alaikum.
It is great honor for me to have the opportunity of expressing our feelings on this parting moment. Shall we become a memory of the past by leaving our dear Alma Mater in the pursuit of our career? It is so very painful yet sweet as well. This moment had to come. Oh Life! You are a mingled yarn - good and bad, sorrow and happiness, dearth and mirth, rain and sunshine, sweet and bitter- all woven together!
Our life journey, though not very long, has brought us to a crossroad where we have to say: 'Adieu, Adieu to you dear ones and to you dear Alma Mater!
Dear Madam! The new horizons beckon us and we have to say yes to their call like small children following the piper. We have to leave miles and miles behind and march forward on the road of life with hopeful hearts and expectant eyes, yet the pangs of parting tear our hearts and tears of sorrow flow from our mourning eyes when we think of the sudden demise of our dearest Principal Madam Iffat. It was the will of Almighty Allah that she left us at a time when we needed her most.
Madam Iffat was an accomplished lady. She had outstanding caliber, unique humane qualities of head and heart, exceptional organizational skill and long administrative experience. She was a devoted teacher, dedicated worker, and loving guide. She was the gem of the first water and the salt of humanity. I wish that her soul were here to watch us expressing our heart-felt feelings of devotion and paying tribute to her. May Allah Karim forgive her soul and reward her for her invaluable services! A'meen.
Very respectable teachers! Thank you, thank you for your love, kindness, care and guidance. Your advice will always remain with us to show us the right path. Please forgive us if we had been a little bit naughty at some time and pray for our bright future.
Dear school-fellows! Thank you. You have been respectful and friendly to us. We pray that Almighty Allah Karim guides you and guards you in every moment of your life. Work hard and win laurels for our Alma Mater.
And our Dear Alma Mater! You will always remain in our thoughts and minds. Thank you and adieu! We shall, Insha Allah, keep on peeping into your rooms and lawns, may be physically by paying a visit to you or may be in our imagination. In either case, you are with us.
Farewell! Farewell!
Parting is such a sweet sorrow,
That I shall say good-bye
Till we meet tomorrow,
Allah knows when comes that morrow.
Adieu and Allah Hafiz!
