Is there a predisposition to addiction?

yes I believe there is most definatley truth in the addiction as a family trait, gene, predisposition theory...based on my 40 plus yrs of plain life experience in a family where addiction is prominent...I also believe moreso that there is a link between mental illness and addiction again this is a personal opinion based on my life and research I have done thanks for asking :)
