What is the voltage output of a cattle prod?

The voltage output of a cattle prod is typically around 4,500 to 5,000 volts although it can be much lower and much higher. Tasers typically have a voltage around 50,000 volts but once skin contact is made the voltage drops to around 1,200 volts. The power of cattle prods and tasers is more dependent on the amps delivered than the actual voltage.
