Finally, the failure to pay one or more premiums will result in the termination of coverage. If it is a term life insurance policy, the termination of coverage will occur quickly. If it is a whole life insurance policy that has accumulated cash value, unless you take affirmative steps to cancel it (as explained above), the premiums may be paid from the cash value until it is exhausted.
