What conditions is Prednisolone prescribed for Cats?

As a major anti-inflamatory, it's used in a wide range of applications both in humans and other mammals including cats. Only a few of the applicaitons include: * Arthritis * Serious allergic reactions, anaphylactic shock * Burn therapy * As a glucosteroid and corticosteroid it can also be used to counter some of the effects of cerebral inflamation. There are a few downsides: * It reduces the immune response (inflamation is part of this), so the subject may be more susceptible to infection while on the course of this med. * In higher doses, there is some degree of mood alteration. In humans, this is similar to extreme bipolar episodes -- Lord alone knows how it manifests in cats. * Dosing is tricky. The format is to provide a heavy loading dose, and then taper off. You shouldn't stop all at once.
