Why is a month typically 30 days long?

Oh sweetheart, impressed you're even pondering that! Back in the Roman times, they couldn't make up their darn mind so some months had 30 days and some had 31. Finally, Julius Caesar and his fancy calendar fixed it with most months at 30 or 31 days. Give the guy some credit for trying to make sense of time, I guess! Just be grateful February got the short end of the stick, huh?
