For both Little League baseball and Little League softball this issue was brought to a roundtable vote and DID NOT receive the necessary votes to become a rule (see below). Therefore, it is still LEGAL to slap/slash hit bu faking a bunt then swinging at a pitch.

Item 4 (A) -- Affects Rule 6.06 -- Minor and Major League Baseball

A batter is out for illegal action when --

(d)

he/she fakes a bunt and then takes a full swing.

Synopsis:

This would eliminate a Minor/Major Division Baseball player from fake bunting and "slap-hitting" the

ball.

Yes - 194 (51.87%) No - 180 (48.13%) Abstain - 1

No action - Item failed.

Item 4 (B) -- Affects Rule 6.06 -- Minor and Major League Softball

A batter is out for illegal action when --

(d)

he/she fakes a bunt and then takes a full swing.

Synopsis:

This would eliminate a Minor/Major Division softball player from fake bunting and "slap-hitting" the

ball.

Yes- 135 (43.83%) No - 173 (56.17%) Abstain- 15

No action - Item failed.
