No it is not necessary for a man to wear an engagement ring, but in many cases men should wear a wedding ring. Wedding rings for either couple only signify the are married, but does protect each other from remaining true to each other. Sometimes men either prefer not to have a wedding band or if they have one will not wear it at work (depending on the work they do) as it could get caught in machinery.
