Seniors often choose to "age in place", a trend helped by the amount of younger caregivers in their family as well as a multitude of new technologies such as medical alerts that allow seniors to stay in their own homes with the knowledge that if a fall or other emergency happens they are able to press a button and receive quick medical attention. With advancements such as this, many generally able bodied seniors who may have gone to a senior care facility because of a family's fear that they can't watch their loved one 24 hours a day can live active and independent lives knowing they're being monitored in case of an emergency.
