How do you avoid offensive language?

It is all part of civility. You can successfully avoid offensive language if the language is recorded in writing, sound or video. Turn it off. Otherwise, it has to do with the people you keep as friends--you all decide to say what you mean in Words that match what you are trying to say. It is a choice, more than anything. Of course, you will hear bad language in cars playing hiphop loudly and people in malls and so on, but at least you are not contributing to the amount of language out there. While you're at it, try to not gossip or slander anyone around you.
