this varies from child to child, but most pediatricians recommend starting solid foods with your baby from 4-6 months. you may still use formula also at this time, gradually givung baby more solids and less formula as time progresses. signs that your baby may be ready for solid foods include sitting up on her own, showing interest in your meal, and opening her mouth for a bite. the first food baby tries will probably be rice cereal (it has a very low risk of an allergic reaction) thinned almost to the consistancy of her formula.
