How do you change the igniton switch in a 1985 ford truck?

Well let me say your going to have to drop the steering wheel to get to the switch. The actual switch is on top of the steering column. There is a steel rod that comes from your ignition down to it. Unhook that. Then unbolt the switch and replace. One thing I forgot to mention. When you drop the steering wheel, don't take it out of the fire wall. Just unbolt the cradel that holds it in place and let it rest on the seat. If your steering wheel doesn't come down far enough, put something on the seat to rest it on. GOOD LUCK!
