What is the pankratium?

The pankratium first appeared in 648 BC in the ancient Greek Olympics. It is a combination of boxing and Wrestling. Even though, biting, eye and nose gouging was not allowed kicking your opponent in the stomach was allowed. Breaking your opponents fingers was allowed and itting him while he was on the ground was also allowed. There were no weight division so if you were 120 pound and powerful and muscular you could have a 10 pound oponent who thought he was lucky enough to beat you.
